Share a ride to or from Uman
A private transfer between the airport and Uman is priced per car, not per seat — so one person pays the same as four. Leave your flight details below, in either direction, and our dispatcher looks for other pilgrims using that airport around the same time. If you match, you travel together and split the fare.
There is nothing to pay now. We come back to you on WhatsApp with who you would be sharing with and what each seat costs, and you decide from there.
How the matching works
- You leave your flight Which way you are going, the airport, the date, the time and your flight number. Takes under a minute and costs nothing.
- We look for a match A dispatcher checks who else is using that airport within a few hours of you, going the same way.
- You confirm on WhatsApp We tell you how many of you there are and what each seat costs. Nobody is given your details until you agree to share.
Leave your flight details
The more exact your flight time, the easier you are to match.
Why sharing is worth it
The drive from Rzeszów, Chișinău or Iași to Uman is a long one — between five and fifteen hours depending on where you land, plus the border crossing. That cost is the same whether one seat is filled or four, which is why a solo traveller pays several times what someone in a group pays for the identical journey.
Around Rosh Hashana this is easy to fix. Tens of thousands of pilgrims converge on the same handful of airports inside the same few days, and a large share of them are travelling on their own. Two or three strangers on the same afternoon flight almost always want exactly the same car.
What makes a good match
Same airport, same direction, within a few hours of each other is the whole of it. A car heading to Uman is no use to someone leaving, and the two rarely line up. A driver will wait for a later flight, but the people already in the car are waiting too, so the closer the times, the better the match for everyone.
Luggage matters more than people expect. Four pilgrims with four large suitcases need a minivan rather than a sedan, and saying so in advance is the difference between a smooth pickup and a reshuffle at the terminal. Mention it in the notes field.
If no one matches
Sometimes nobody else is on your flight window — an unusual airport, an early booking, a night landing. You lose nothing: we tell you, and you can still book the car privately at the normal price, or keep waiting while we watch for later requests.
Requests stay open until the date passes. If someone books your airport and time the day before you fly, you are still in the pool.
Frequent questions
- How much does a shared ride cost?
- The fare for the car is split between the people in it, so a seat typically costs a half to a quarter of a private transfer depending on how many of you there are. You get the exact figure on WhatsApp before you agree to anything — there is no charge for being matched.
- Who will I be travelling with?
- Other pilgrims heading to Uman who left their details on this page. We tell you how many people are in the car and where they are flying from before you confirm. If you would rather not share, say so and we arrange a private car instead.
- What if my flight is delayed?
- Send us the flight number — it is on the form for exactly this reason. We track the flight and the driver waits. If a delay is long enough to break the match, the dispatcher reorganises it rather than leaving anyone at the airport.
- Is my phone number shared with strangers?
- No. The dispatcher holds the details and coordinates the pickup. Passengers in the same car are introduced only once everyone has agreed to travel together.
- Can I share the ride back to the airport too?
- Yes — switch the form to "From Uman" and leave your outbound flight the same way. Fill it in twice if you want both legs. Return journeys after Rosh Hashana are usually the easiest rides of the year to fill, because everyone leaves within the same two days.
- Do I have to be travelling alone?
- No. Two friends splitting with two more people works just as well — say how many seats you need on the form.
