What this means in practice
The NBU rate is the reference banks report against, not the price at a counter. A counter always quotes two numbers: what it will buy your currency for and what it will sell at. It buys below the official rate and sells above it, and that gap is the exchange desk's margin.
Cash rates are published for dollars and euros only. The shekel and złoty rows carry the official rate alone, because Ukrainian banks do not publish a cash rate for them — those notes are held at counters far less often. In practice that means a wider buy-sell gap wherever they are changed at all.

Paying for your transfer
You can pay for the transfer in cash on arrival, by international bank transfer, with PayPal, Revolut, or in crypto (BTC, USDT, USDC). We do not take cards. The amount and the currency are agreed on WhatsApp beforehand, so you will not have to change money for the ride itself.
Frequent questions
- Which currency should I bring to Uman?
- Dollars or euros. They have a published cash rate, every counter takes them, and the buy-sell gap is narrowest. Shekels can be changed too, but Ukrainian banks publish no cash rate for them, so there is no way to compare offers before you arrive.
- Why is the counter's rate different from your table?
- Because the table holds two different numbers. The NBU rate is the official reference. The bank's cash rate is what a counter actually works to, and it is always a little worse for the customer in both directions.
- Do I need hryvnia to pay for my transfer?
- No. Cash on arrival, bank transfer, PayPal, Revolut or crypto. The amount and the currency are agreed on WhatsApp before the ride.
- Where do these rates come from?
- The official one from the National Bank of Ukraine's open API. The cash one from PrivatBank's public API, and for dollars and euros only, because those are the only ones it publishes. We refresh them at least hourly and show the date the official rate applies to.
