What drives the queue

Open lanes, not passport checks: two instead of four doubles the wait. Peaks are Friday and Sunday evenings, public holidays, and the days before Rosh Hashana. Trucks queue separately — but a coach in front of you costs you time.

Which are open 24/7

Almost all of them. The exceptions are Dzvinkove and Kosyny on the Hungarian border: daytime only, cars only. Fewer lanes are staffed between roughly 02:00 and 05:00.

Cars, buses, pedestrians

Three separate queues. Buses wait longer. You can only cross on foot at Shehyni, Uzhhorod, Chop, Porubne, Solotvyno and Mohyliv-Podilskyi.

Reading the numbers

We show a range, not a single number: in the days before Rosh Hashana the queue is unpredictable and the spread is the useful part. When the last hour holds at least four reports we use only those — the queue turns over fast. Otherwise we widen to three hours. The range covers most of those reports, so one bad entry barely moves it. Anything over 3 hours old is shown muted. No reports means no estimate — we would rather show nothing than guess.

How accurate is it?
We show the range of recent reports, so single mistakes do not move it. Accuracy depends on volume — the count is shown next to each figure. Where there are no reports we leave it blank rather than invent a number.
Which Polish crossing is fastest?
No stable answer. Uhryniv and Hrushiv are usually quieter than Krakovets and Shehyni, but weekends reshuffle that.
Where can I cross on foot?
Shehyni, Uzhhorod, Chop, Porubne, Solotvyno and Mohyliv-Podilskyi. Everywhere else needs a vehicle.
Are they open at night?
Almost all. Dzvinkove and Kosyny are daytime only, cars only.
What about before Rosh Hashana?
